My best friend passed away in 2017. I was 17 and he died from suicide. He begged me to stay at the house to play games with him and I left to see my damn boyfriend who I saw everyday. He left after that. This was the first song I heard after it happened and it hurts so much, I miss you Josh

I had to come back to this because I'm seeing Joni Mitchell in LA this October, and they sampled her song "This Flight Tonight"! When she sang the sample, I was like "I've heard this before, but I can't remember where" and it was *killing* me that I couldn't find this song. I'm so glad this song came back into my life.

When I was a kid, me and my dad would bond over music a lot. I remember he showed me this song, we listened to it together a lot. I come back every time I'm in a rough place mentally and it helps to feel that moment again. We don't have the best relationship anymore, so it's bittersweet in a way. But I still love him and I still love this song.
One thing I always remember about anyone that’s hurt me is that - if they had a list of options they could choose from to represent what they mean to you, I dont think they’d choose the option that hurts you the most. No one would consciously choose to be the asshole if they had a say in it. Everyone has a different brain and a different set of circumstances that has shaped them into the person they are. This influences the decisions they make. I hope this helps , but if not , just know that you are loved 🥰
